Fall and Thanksgiving Wreaths Part II

Wow, isn't this wreath gorgeous?  I love all the elements, the curry yellow fabric roses are beautiful against the organic yumminess of the twigs.  There are more awesome fabric rose wreaths towards the end of the post... All of these really inspire me to make another wreath for Thanksgiving (see my Halloween wreath here), that is if I can find the will...  You see, my lovely professors have decided to throw a few monkey wrenches into the Thanksgiving holiday!  That's right - I have an 8-11 page written final exam due tomorrow afternoon and an 8-11 page term paper due (for another class) this coming Monday.  As if that doesn't sound exhausting enough, even for someone who loves to write papers, I also have an 8-11 page term paper due next Wednesday for the same class that I have the aforementioned final exam due for tomorrow.  That's three major papers sandwiching the long Thanksgiving weekend!  What - do they not want me to enjoy my food or something?  Bah humbug.

I am taking the attitude that I always take with papers - I am going to conquer'em and paint three amazing literary works of art...  :D

So back to that Thanksgiving wreath, I hope I have the energy and the will to do it before turkey time.  We'll see, after 2pm tomorrow my brain and my achy fingers will be free to get creative and there's no telling what I'll do with those other two (smaller) woven wood wreaths that I picked up at Dollar Tree a few weeks ago.  Until then...you know where I'll be.

I hope you enjoy this post, let me know if it inspires you to make a wreath of your own!

Apart from the lovely wreath, I am especially loving the carved wood door and brass knocker in the image above!  The knocker reminds me of the one on my mother's door that my father engraved by hand with our family name (seen in this post).  My father was such an amazing artist, I am going to do a post in honor of him and his artwork, including engravings, carvings and drawings.  I'll also tell you about my grandfather, we have many of his drawings and paintings throughout the house.  I'm excited to share it all with you!  To start, you'll see a large painting of a bullfighter that my grandfather did for a friend (that friend being the bullfighter) and learn the wild story about it in my next post on how I repainted my mother's dining room and foyer - the painting is hanging on the wall above the buffet/sideboard.  You'll also see my Thanksgiving decorations on the foyer entry table and buffet, as well as our tablecloth and table setting/tablescape!   Stay tuned!
