Inspiring Kitchens: Part I

KA-POW!  Here is my latest burst of inspiration for you, beautiful kitchens!  This is part one of many many parts to come, why?  Because I love to cook, I love the kitchen and I grew up in a family where the kitchen is the most lively place - the heart of the home where the family gathers!  And hey, with Thanksgiving coming soon (the best holiday ever) I'm sure we could all use some inspiration for making our own kitchens vibrant and cheerful!

The weather here in Miami is beautiful - it's actually cold!  *gasp*  We'll see how long it lasts, in the meantime, I'm ready to soak up the weekend!  I hope you enjoy yours!

Contrast Colors: My Apartment Decor

Here are some previously shared images of my apartment design, only this time I've doctored them up with the color contrast feature on my iphone's Black and White Camera application (as first discussed in last week's post on my garden).  I like how adjusting the color contrast creates so much drama, not to mention helps make my poor quality photos somewhat better!  I know, I know... I really need to buckle down and go get a good camera already!

Beautiful Wall Decor and Art: Plates: Part I

Hello Hello! Isn't this image above absolutely STUNNING!?

Years ago I went to the holiday party of a family friend only to discover the most beautiful collection of hand-painted Moroccan plates hanging gracefully on their living room wall, displayed for all to see (much like the image above, but in colors more similar to the image below). As you can imagine, it was love at first sight for me! I have often thought of making my very own wall art feature out of different decorative plates and platters ever since.

Believe me when I tell you that I have collected enough 25 cent decorative teacup plates from various Goodwill trips to make this a reality! But, since I have yet to go out on the hunt for enough plate-hanging hardware to actually do that, I have compiled inspiration photos in the meantime. One of these days I will have to sit down with a pencil and some paper to sketch out some ideas for how I'll eventually hang them.

I have so many great images to share with you that I've split them up into two posts, so stay tuned for Part II next week! Do any of you out there happen to have any wall art composed of plates or platters? If so I'd love to see pictures and hear your tips for displaying them!

*Sigh*
This image is so beautiful... all those Moroccan plates are oh so gorgeous!

These bird themed plates look awesome together....

I love these fish!!!!.....

And last, this pretty image features a Moroccan designed and decorated room. I have used this image in a past post, however I couldn't help but include it again as it shows pretty hand-painted Moroccan plates being used as wall art...
