Good Day.... and a good day it is!
My weekend was oh so relaxing, I spent nearly the entire time out by the pool basking in the sun and playing with the dogs in the pool. For the past four or five weekends I've been diligently trying to turn my Casper the ghost body into more of a beach babe type of body, in other words, go from white to tan. When I was young I was quite tan because I was always outside playing, but as years of school went by and playing outside became a thing of the past I slowly lost my color and became insanely pale. Well, I've had enough of it! I've tried many times in the past to tan, to no avail - I usually just burn, peel and give up after one weekend at the beach. But this time I heeded my mother's advice and did it a little bit at a time by the pool each weekend... And guess what? It worked! Holy crap, my patience and dedication paid off, I've got a pretty good tan now! Maybe I'll share a before and after photo with you all one of these days.... Give me a few more weekends first, hehe! :)
So, as promised I took some more pictures of my garden, everything is so beautiful and so much is changing that I couldn't resist! HA! Later on today I'll have a post to share with you on the section of my mother's yard that I've landscaped with cacti and succulents, I'm calling it "Cactus Corner" LOL! The two of us had so many cacti and succulents that could go in the ground and get huge that we decided to let'em have at it and, hopefully, take over the corner with wild abandon and create a beautiful array of color and texture in the backyard... Haha... that's the plan.
Anyway, I'll I think it's coming along quite nice, it's amazing how fast they grow when you stick'em in the ground - wow! So stay tuned for that. In the meantime, enjoy this garden post...
They're baaaaaack! My favorite perfect little blood red flowers, they've bloomed once again on the creeping cactus vine (I forget the name) growing in the planter at the base of my Pencil Cactus! I am absolutely fascinated by how determined they are to be open, there's over six of them crammed in such a tight space under other parts of the plant, yet they still open! So awesome!
LOOK! Lots of little babies growing! These succulents (don't remember their name) are doing awesome in the full hot Miami sun, they're so plump and pretty!
This cactus took FOREVER to sprout its children, I planted this thing waaaaay last year when I lived downtown! But now that it has, it's growing super fast, gotta plant it int he ground soon... over at "Cactus Corner" haha!
And here's another gorgeous blood red flower from the same type of cactus vine in a little terracotta pot on the other side of the yard...
I found this adorable little own candle holder for the garden at TJMaxx and thought I'd prop him in the bushes... whooo whoooo whooooooooo! :)
