The first is for classic songs by the early masters of the RSS, but those ain't linked. That's just to reveal something of what exists on my iTunes in the "Classics" category. The second list, the ones available for your listening pleasure, had two rules: (1) Nothing pre-1980; and (2) Nothing that to my knowledge cracked the charts.
I'm still stunned that this was a difficult challenge. Unlike Bob, I never really realized how many great songs hold to that time window. (The second picture is of Martin Short singing. It was the third thing that came up by Googling images under "short songs.")
